PROCESS

The key to succes is hidden in the simplicity.

We started this project with doing a little research about gadgets. What is the definition of a gadget and what is our individual and group vision to this definition? Al questions to start our quest towards daily life problems that could use a gadget. The results of this research gave us a few possible concepts to take with us to the next phase; brainstorming.

01 RESEARCH
02 BRAINSTORM

Let’s create some concepts! With all the knowledge we have gotten with our research, we were ready to start brainstorming about concepts. It was soon clear that we had two possible options, a clothing hanger expander and a clip-on box for screws to hang on your belt. During the brainstorm session, we all sketched our visual ideas to both concepts. That ended up in a winner; the clothing hanger expander!

03 SKETCHING

We had our concept, but now it was time to think about the technical specifications. What is the size of the product going to be? And how can we use as little material as possible but remain a strong product? We looked at some natural shapes to give the product more strength. The hook itself was also an important aspect of the product. That needed to be as multifunctional as possible. Here is one of our final sketches.

04 TARGET GROUP

To define the target group, we made usage of the BSR-model. A model that helps with narrowing down your target by defining their mentality. In this model you have four different groups with all their own core values. Our focus was given to the red group, of which the core values are seen at the left.
