Make it your own with Shapeways

We visited Shapeways! Shapeways is a company that specialises in 3D printing with powder. Shapeways is an online 3D-print service and community. It is possible for everyone to create a product and sell it online on their website. Even if you don’t know how to design your product, then you can find a team who will help. It is Shapeways' mission to make it possible for everyone to design, develop and sell their own products.

At our visit, we attended a presentation about the company. They told us how they work and something about the different 3D print techniques and materials. Some examples showed us the success customers can get with their online Shapeways shop like a group that designed 3D printed my little pony versions or people who design miniatures of objects.

After the presentation, we got a tour through the factory. We learned about the company’s business model, how the production runs in the most efficient way and all the materials that can be used in different ways to realise the products.
