Ethics with Abigail

On Monday the 15th of May, we had a class about a subject most of us didn’t know a lot about. The class was given by Abigail Albuquerque who is also our project supervisor for the Global Challenge Project.

The class started off in a weird setting where the room was recreated into a sort of beach to bring another mood into the classroom. This was probably done to get us out of our comfort zone which always brings out another part of a person that you would normally never use. The class was focused about our Global Grand Challenge and at first we had to brainstorm about our own challenge and the ethics part of it. At the end of the lesson we presented our groups target question for the challenge and other groups could ask questions for 10 minutes without us answering.

The class made us look at a different side of our challenge that we had been diverging from. Actually facing these questions about ethics and other subjects that we didn’t really think of yet gave us a lot of information. The next project day we sat together and while looked at the questions it gave us a big new insight about our whole interpretation of our project which was very convenient, because we got questions that we never really thought of or didn’t know yet. The lesson definitely helped in a big way for the remaining phases in our project.
